A new iPad/iPhone app featuring Campagnolo history and lore has come out.
The app is not sponsored by Campagnolo–instead, Europe-based retailer
(Campagnolo Sportswear Benelux) developed and launched it,
which is reflected in the parts of the app that link to their online store.

That being said, there’s some great info in the app’s timeline, and the promise of more features to come.
The app is free, and is available in English.

Easton Cycling Tour de France iphone photo app

Celebrating the Tour de France and their support of the BMC Racing Team, Easton Cycling has launched a contest letting fans use a custom iPhone app to “put themselves in the race.” Free from the iTunes Store, the app allows people take a picture and insert themselves into 21 iconic images of the world’ biggest race.

The contest takes off when people upload their photos to a special photo album on Easton’s Facebook page. At the end of the Tour, Easton will award a $500 shopping spree on Eastoncycling.com for the photo that best captures the spirit of the Tour de France. The winner may use the gift card at Easton’s online store.

le tour scheduler 2011 tour de france calendar app with maps and individual stage profiles and infoTour Schedule 2011 is a new iOS app (for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) that gives a run down of each day’s stage with notes, maps and more. The kicker is it lets you add any or all stages to your iCal to easily block off the time it’s airing so you won’t accidentally schedule things like work, school functions or special time with your sweetie.

Available in iTunes for $0.99 now.

Dahon’s BioLogic line introduced their original sweat, weather and bump-proof iPhone bike mount a bit over a year or so ago, but times they do change.

The new version has a taller, stronger hinge that’s mounted on the side rather than the top, and ridged seals around the edges to further reduce the chance of water leaking into the case. The headphone port is sealed, and there’s a sealed sliding cover for your front-facing Facetime camera, too. The rear of the case has a built-in lens over the main camera, so you can shoot photos and/or video while riding.

The mount is fairly versatile, allowing you to put your iPhone on just about anything with a handlebar-like tube for it to clamp to. The new design is backward compatible with the 3G and 3G-S iPhones, too. There’s room inside the case to plug in the charging cable if you’re running a front hub dynamo or using their ReeCharge power pack. MSRP is $78.00 .

Now, if they’d just come out with an iPad mount, all would be right in our world.

drugsearch-iphone-app-wada-banned-substances

James Mattis, a member of the California Giant-Specialized cycling team, developed the DrugSearch app after seeing what his wife, Katheryn Curi-Mattis, was going through as a member of the the Webcor Builders cycling team and part of the US Anti-Doping Agency’s out-of-competition testing program.

The free app offers easy access to the WADA’s full banned substance list, including items that are banned year-round and those only banned during competition. It also lists banned methods, such as gene or blood doping, sample manipulation, etc.

The app is ad supported, so you’ll see little links, but it’s a small price to pay for such a cool gadget. Download from iTunes here.

Bicio recently launched their iPhone mount for the bike called the GoRide.

It uses a case for the phone (that can be left on as a protective case) that mounts into a bracket that’s zip-tied to your handlebar, stem or frame. It’s designed to hold it securely and within easy viewing and reach, and the design is open so that you can easily control the phone.

At $29.95 USD MSRP, it’s the least expensive mount we’ve seen that’s made specifically for bicycles, and you can get additional brackets for $9.99 so you can easily swap between two or more bikes.
