Come join us on Saturday, October 3, 2009, for the Cajun Challenge bicycle ride. The funds raised from Cajun Challenge bike ride will be divided among the sponsoring organizations. T.R.A.I.L.’s will use its proceeds to support the 25 miles of paved pathways proposed from downtown Lafayette to St. Martin Lake for families, bicycle riders, and other outdoor enthusiasts. The Cajun Cyclists will help sponsor a local racing team to help promote bicycling in Acadiana.
The ride will start at Magdelon Square in Abbeville.
From there,
riders will be able to pick a
25, 62, or 100 mile route.
This year’s route will take riders to the Islands. Not Virgin or St. Thomas but Cow, Forked and Pecan Islands. This will be the first time many of you make the trek south of Abbeville into the wilderness. Birdwatcher’s dream as you cruise between the rice fields. Do not feed the alligators!
Water stops will be set up along the way; SAG wagons available; and food and drinks provided at the end of the ride.
T-shirts will be available the day of the ride for $8.
The cost of the ride is $30 for pre-registration and $35 for those who register on site.
Registration is also available at www.active.com.
Bring the whole family out to enjoy Music, Food, and Fun!
