Campagnolo EPS Willier and Bianchi
Seems the Italians are quick to snap up their hometown hero’s new electronic group set with EPS getting stock offerings on Bianchi and Wilier!
Wilier just now quietly put up a video of the possibly more exciting Zero7 EPS.
Both bikes use an electronic-only frame. The Di2 version of the CentoUno debuted in 2009 as a variation on the mechanical model. It’s still not showing up as an option on their U.S. website or U.S. catalog, but you can find this Di2/EPS compatible frameset with a simple search for around $4,500 USD or a sick custom build for about $18,500, but the electronic-only frame doesn’t show up on the U.S. version of Wilier’s website or the catalog. Here’s hoping it makes its way across the pond.

Cyclepedia for iPad - Official Promotional Video
This is why you bought (or will buy) an iPad. Heuristic Media’s Cyclepedia App takes their print volume and does everything a book like this should do when it goes digital.
Featuring 100 iconic bicycles, it lets you zoom, pan and rotate them 360º. It shows origin, specs and details and it does it all with a polished interface that’s simply gorgeous. It also features films, original advertising, links, engineering drawings and still photos. Folding bikes feature swipable folding animations, and many include original owners manuals and more.
Get it on iTunes for $9.99, which is a real bargain considering the non clicky-flicky print book is about $23. Now you know what to do with those iTunes gift cards you find in your stocking!

Eddy Merckx, Commandeur de la Legion d'Honneur
Eddy Merckx was awarded the Legion of Honour grade "Commandeur de la Legion d'honneur" today by French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the presidential Elysee palace in Paris.
"It’s a considerable honor," said Merckx, who was initially made Chevalier at the start of the 1975 Tour de France.
The Legion of Honour, or in full the National Order of the Legion of Honour (French: Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur) is a French order established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802. The Order is the highest decoration in France. There are five levels: grand croix (grand cross), grand officier (grand officer), commandeur (commander), officier (officer) and chevalier (knight).
Merckx won the Tour de France five times, the Giro d'Italia five times, the Vuelta a España once, won all the monuments* of cycling at least twice, with 19 monument victories in all, won the world championship once as an amateur and three times as a professional, and broke the world hour record.
*the five monuments of cycling:
Milan–San Remo (Italy)
Tour of Flanders (Belgium)
Paris–Roubaix (France)
Liège–Bastogne–Liège (Belgium)
Giro di Lombardia (Italy)
Congratulations Eddy!

Mavic, Cervelo Meet in the Windtunnel to Develop New Bike-Rider-Wheel Designs
FROM MAVIC:
As you know, aerodynamic properties of wheels vary significantly depending on the frames in which the wheels are being used. Engineers from Mavic and Cervélo met to explore wind tunnel test protocols in which wheels and frames are tested together as a unit. In doing so, they hope to create new bike + rider + wheel solutions to optimize airflow around the complete system. It turns out that a combo of the right wheels in the right frame is faster than the sum of the separate parts.
