Sorry for the late posting,
your webmaster has been busy with another exciting project,
of which details will be posted soon!.

This past week good friend and client Sean Schnur made his way to the tunnel with John Cobb to redefine his bike position. Last year Sean qualified for Kona in only his second Ironman, while in Hawaii he finished in the top 100. John Cobb worked on his position and found him some extra speed by dropping his drag numbers. Now he can settle in with the new position, good luck Sean.

In an attempt to really showcase their close relationship with pro cyclists in the process of developing new wheels, Mavic has released two videos that chronicle what is needed to develop a new road or mountain wheel. The video above obviously is focused on the mighty Thor as he prepares for this year’s Paris-Roubaix, which Hushovd will race on the new Mavic M40.

Clearly, the M40 was not born overnight, as many hours went into engineering, building, and testing the various prototypes. Mavic even states that their engineers build several visually identical wheels that are built to have very different riding characteristics, in order for their test riders to blindly test them and offer their thoughts on why one was better than another. As Mavic notes at the start of the video, they had thought that a tall profile composite rim would be too fragile to stand up to the infamous cobbles, yet testing of the M40 has shown otherwise. The M40 is a 40mm deep carbon tubular rim, with a wide profile, and 24 spokes, and according to Mavic is most likely shown in it’s final spec.

The first 10 mile TT will be this coming Tuesday at 6:30 on Sawmill Road, all are invited, no entry, no prizes just you against the clock. Last year we averaged 30 riders. Dust off the Disc and race wheels and show up and ride. The 10 mile TT will be a good gauge on where you stand at the start of the season.

Even though everyone has been hitting it hard this spring getting ready for all the upcoming Triathlons. Two of our guys have it figured out. George has been working on his tan and Kyle has been working on his downhill skiing. Enjoy guys!

Time to dust of that TT bike and get ready for an hour of pain.

NOBC is sponsoring the 2-person Time Trial in LaPlace, LA this Sunday.

Don’t delay and get a partner; it’s a 40km closed course.

Remember, if you have a mixed category team you will be racing in the category of the the highest category member of your team.

For example, if you are a 4/5 team – you will be racing cat 4’s.

Hope to see you there and – Good Luck Everyone!
