Tri vs Road

At Precisi0n Bikes we attempt to cater to athletes from all backgrounds, specializing in different forms of sport.
At the heart of Triathlon/Iron Man, the meat in the sandwich,
CYCLING!
One can think of CYCLING as one specialty,
though it involves many.
Just think of: Road racing, BMX, Cross-Country, Track, to name a few.
One of the 3 disciplines in Triathlon/Iron Man is CYCLING,
in the form of a "Time Trial".
For this purpose the "Tri-Bike" is designed with a different geometry from a typical "Road Bike" and most attention is focused on "Aerodynamics".
Having said all this,
TimeTrial is a discipline of both CYCLING and TRIATHLON/IRON MAN.
Precision Bikes, as the name implies, takes interest in the history, building, repair, maintenance and development of bicycles.
Off course we cater to ALL disciplines of this awesome sport we call "CYCLYSM", "TRIATHLON" and "IRON MAN".
We don't encourage a widening gap between the different disciplines,
but rather expanding on the "new and old", from which we can learn so much.
There may be some friction towards "tri-geeks" from the "roadie" side of things. I don't think it's really malicious, but more of an elitist attitude. My feeling is that it comes from the aspect of a triathlete not specializing in one discipline like a cyclist. Cycling has a very deep history and culture which truly is embraced by those who really get into it. A triathlete however, rarely seems to study this aspect of cycling; something which come cyclists may see as marginalizing their chosen sport.
Plus it's easy to feel elite when you can spot a triathlete in an instant when they join "roadies" on a group ride.
So all that being said, a "roadie" may feel a bit elite when thinking about triathletes, but has to admire the dedication of tri-athletes to perform well in THREE sports, where "roadies" only dedicates themselves to ONE.
In the end:
Roadies and Tri-geeks are all obsessive compulsive!
They exhibit idiosyncratic narcissistic tendencies.
But roadies are more prone to Attention Deficit Disorder,
whereas Tri-geeks are more like very high functioning autistics.
My diagnosis: We're all sick puppies!
